Dallara was founded in 1972 by Giampaolo Dallara, president of Dallara Group, joined in 2007 by Andrea Pontremoli as partner and managing director. The headquarters are in Varano de 'Melegari, the birthplace of MrDallara.
The success of the company was gradually achieved in Formula 3, first in Italy and then throughout the world, in the United States with the IndyCar, then consulting for major manufacturers.
The key skills that characterize Dallara are the design with carbon fiber composites; aerodynamics with the Wind Tunnel and CFD; the vehicle dynamics with the Driving Simulator and indoor testing and the high-quality prototype production.
Each weekend about 300 Dallara cars race on circuits around the world and in different formulas: in fact, the company provides cars for all Formula 3 Championships and it is the sole car supplier for Indycar, Indy Lights, Formula 2, GP3, Formula 3.5 V8, Super Formula championships. It also manufactures cars for the Formula E, WEC, ELMS and IMSA championships.
In recent years the Engineering business has expanded, both regarding race cars and in high performance road cars.
It’s since the ‘80s that Sabelt and Dallara share the same values developing high-quality and design products, always looking for the best and lightest materials and working to offer new technological and innovative solutions. Dallara cars are all equipped with Sabelt seatbelts, included the new Superformula that will be on track from the 2019 season of the Japanese series.
The new Sabelt seatbelt for Dallara has been developed starting from F1 technology. It has the same ultralight buckle used in F1, aluminum regulators and titanium fixing bracket points. A premium seatbelt for a premium car.
