SABELT AND ALPINE UNVEIL THE TS-12 HYPERCOLOR AT LE MANS, THE WORLD'S LIGHTEST SUBLIMATED RACING SUIT
The new Sabelt TS-12 Hypercolor made its debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans with an exclusive livery created by renowned artistic duo Van Orton, combining technological innovation, performance, and contemporary art.
At the 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans, Sabelt and the Alpine Endurance Team unveiled the new TS-12 Hypercolor, a groundbreaking racing suit that redefines the standards of technical apparel in motorsport. Developed and tested under the extreme demands of endurance racing, the TS-12 Hypercolor is now recognized as the world's lightest sublimated racing suit, representing a major step forward in driver comfort, breathability, and overall performance.
With a weight of just 275 g/m², compared to approximately 440 g/m² for the previous generation, Sabelt's latest innovation achieves a weight reduction of nearly 40% without compromising safety, durability, or compliance with FIA 8856-2018 regulations. Thanks to an advanced manufacturing process, the TS-12 Hypercolor also enables highly complex graphics and vibrant customization while preserving the suit's technical performance and protective properties.
To celebrate its Le Mans debut, Sabelt and Alpine partnered with Van Orton, the internationally acclaimed Italian artistic duo known for their distinctive visual language characterized by bold geometries, vibrant colors, and contemporary pop culture influences. Their exclusive artwork transforms the racing suit into a true wearable canvas, telling the story of more than six decades of Alpine heritage at Le Mans.
The design pays tribute to three iconic cars that shaped Alpine's legacy at Circuit de la Sarthe: the Alpine M63, the brand's first Le Mans entry in 1963; the legendary Renault Alpine A442B, winner of the 1978 edition; and the current Alpine A424 Hypercar, competing in the FIA World Endurance Championship.
The launch of the TS-12 Hypercolor marks a significant milestone not only from a technological standpoint but also from a cultural one. For the first time in FIA WEC history, a manufacturer competing in the Hypercar category has taken to the track with racing suits designed by contemporary artists, demonstrating how advanced engineering and creative expression can coexist within a high-performance technical product.
