2021 SUSTAINABILITY REPORT
For the third year Sabelt is voluntarily publishing the Sustainability Report, demonstrating the company's commitment to a better tomorrow.
As a company with an impact on the territory and on the social context, Sabelt chooses to carry out its business not only on the basis of profit, but with the aim of contributing to the reduction of social inequalities and climate change.
The Sustainability Report is the document where Sabelt, using GRI reference standards, reports qualitative and quantitative information on the effects of the company's activities and its ability to generate shared value.
Using reference information sources on the subject, the '2030 Agenda', a document defined by the United Nations in 2015, Sabelt maps the relevant contents of this report. The company fully agrees with the 2030 Agenda's definition of ‘Sustainable Development’: ‘a development process that aims at meeting the needs of the present, without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. In order to achieve sustainable development, it is important to harmonise three key elements: economic growth, social inclusion, and environmental protection’.
The Sustainability Report 2021 is organised into five sections that touch on topics relevant to Sabelt: Sustainability, Organisational Structure & Economic performance, Innovation & Quality, People & Territory, Environment. The data shows the results and planned activities concerning the social aspects of employee welfare (such as safety, inclusion or the reduction of the wage gap) and the external environment (such as the reduction of CO2 emissions or the use of recyclable materials).
Regarding the latter, an initiative that represents Sabelt environmental mission, is the ‘Carbogreen Project’. It aims at the development of seating systems for sports cars made of newly designed materials, renewable or with low environmental impact. In addition, looking at the long term, Sabelt also aims to achieve zero net emissions by 2030.
From a social point of view, the company grew from 233 employees in 2020 to 331 in 2021 supporting its local area by creating jobs.
