Saturday, 14th July 2018 - Today, Sabelt announces a new technical partnership with Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY, the world’s first international championship for production-based electric cars, showcasing Jaguar’s first battery electric vehicle – the Jaguar I-PACE.

Sabelt will provide seats, seatbelts, steering wheels and head protection nets up to 20 Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY racecars at each round of the new electric racing series, which will begin in Season 5 of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship.

The Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY is the support series to the ABB FIA Formula E Championship and will take place the same weekend on the same city street circuits throughout the 2018/19 season. The series, which will exclusively feature up to 20 Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY racecars, will give teams involved the chance to showcase talent and performance while competing on the world stage in zero-emissions motorsport.

Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) in Warwickshire, UK are building the racecars, and Sabelt will supply the GT-625 seat (homologation number 8862) with dedicated side joints; the steering wheel; top-of-the-range seatbelts with aluminum tension adjusters; and the head protection window net.

Sabelt joins Michelin, official tyre supplier for the championship.

Massimiliano Marsiaj, Sabelt Deputy Chairman & Business Development: “We are really proud to work with Jaguar. I think we have laid the foundation for a new and lasting collaboration. Thanks to the work of our two technical departments, we have already developed together a new racing seat. Electric cars are the future and we always want to progress with the times.”

“We’re really pleased to welcome Sabelt on board”, said Marion Barnaby, Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY Championship Manager. “They bring a huge amount of knowledge and expertise when it comes to key parts of the Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY racecars.”
