World Champion Gabriele Tarquini doesn't hang up his racing suit and choose Sabelt once again

There is a lot of Sabelt in the double world success of Hyundai and Gabriele Tarquini, winners in the 2018 WTCR season, the series that has made its debut this year in place of WTCC.

It is Sabelt, indeed, to supply seats and seat belts to the Hyundai i30 N TCR run by the BRC Racing Team in the World series. Moreover, Sabelt will provide the racing suit to the Italian driver, Tarquini, who at the age of 56 won the title on last 18th of November and set a new record becoming the oldest World Champion in automobile racing.

Races are over now, but preparations for the new season are already underway. During a test session in the Portuguese circuit of Portimão, where Tarquini was tuning some new technical solutions for his car, Sabelt was there to make a few measurements and design the suit he will wear in 2019.

Tarquini had to choose between two different suits designed starting from the Hero model: the Comfort and the Superlight material. The first one has super breathable elastic panels applied on most sensitive zones such as the back and the hips; the second has been revised in numerous details to save weight and has been slimmed down reducing even the seams. Differently from the first one, has fabric panels only on the back.

The partnership between Sabelt and Tarquini has deep roots. Back in 2002, the Italian driver wore a Sabelt suit gaining the victory in the European Tourism Championship. At that time Tarquini wore a custom-made suit in polished fabric that, following the trend of the time, was made more looking at the fashion of the moment than at comfort and lightness.

For the 2019 season, Tarquini will wear Sabelt underwear, and the black Hero Sabelt shoes, customized with the N, his last name and the Italian flag on them.
