Sabelt and Hyundai have collaborated in the development of the Hyundai i20 WRC seats since 2014 and today Sabelt supplies seats and seatsbelts to the Hyundai Shell Mobis World Rally Team. The seats and their technology are Sabelt’s primary task of excellence. It has been the choice of high performance and quality materials that has made them successful, as proved by Hayden Paddon and his codriver Sebastian Marshall, Andreas Mikkelsen and Anders Jaeger, Dani Sordo and Carlos Del Barrio and Thierry Neuville and Nicolas Gilsoul, the four Hyundai crews involved in the World Rally Championship, with
Portugal and Italy.
The one with Sabelt is a successful teamwork: Sabelt provides to 2018 Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC the GT-630 seat. It has a carbon fiber shell and a total weight of only 7 kg. It observes the new Fia 8862-2009 standard that requires an increase in passive safety and has been developed thanks to the collaboration of the Sabelt technical department alongside Hyundai Motorsport. The GT-630 is a new generation seat with futuristic carbon shell for endurance as well as prepreg materials to increase impact resistance and energy absorption while maintaining record-breaking low weight.
Thanks to ergonomic studies, the Sabelt GT-630 also provides a complex structure with seatback holes that allow hot air exchange in the back and lumbar area helping the driver to race in better conditions concerning temperatures.
Sabelt supplies Hyundai Motorsport seatbelts for the Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC car too. They have aluminium adjuster and endurance buckle.
