Thanks to many years of experience in various fields of application of seat belts, Sabelt is the only ones able to design, manufacture, sell occupant restraint systems suitable for different types of vehicles, not only cars. Sabelt recently created a business unit dedicated to the application of restraint systems in markets such as military, aeronautic, RVI and aerospace.
Thanks to the quality of experience engineering for manufacturing harnesses or safetybelts as lightweight components, Sabelt builds restraint systems for aerospace environment, especially for cargo application. The first project carried out for Orbital ATK Cygnus, where the cargo bags are retained by Sabelt belts, has been a real success. The new Special Application BU has been created to satisfy manufacturers of ultralight aircrafts, helicopters, airlines cargo, space aircrafts.
Transportation field include many different applications where know-how of manufacturing safety belt is the basic starting point to develop new and innovative products. Coach bus, agriculture vehicle, moving and forklift, construction, armoured vehicle, camper and caravan; these are the main applications already approached around the world thanks to a great commercial network and recognized quality of products.
The target of the main Sabelt BU (OEM lightweigt sport seats) is the luxury market where the high value of products match the high value of the vehicle. Studing these application we found some links with the nautical world, most for the high-end segment, where the seating is very similar to automotive ones in terms of high technology, style, comfort or functionality and quality. Thanks to this affinity, Sabelt offers to some customers high value seats for nautical application, with specific solutions, style and design from the main OEM successful experience.
Many of the special application segments have a parallel military market. Sabelt is currently supplier of some land armoured vehicles where the system seat/safety belts helps to reach impressive target of protection. The experience on competition cars where we usually test materials over 60G, make possible the construction of special belts. Moreover our expertise in building straps and nets will be applied to military cargo and rescue vehicles, including helicopters and aircrafts.
